TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

These Terms & Conditions apply to all building, renovation, refurbishment, and property improvement services provided by PL BUILDERS LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accepting a quotation, confirming a booking, or allowing works to commence, you (“the customer”) agree to these Terms.

2. SCOPE OF WORK
2.1 We provide building and renovation services including, but not limited to:
- General building works
- Property refurbishment
- Bathroom and kitchen renovations
- Tiling, plastering, painting, flooring
- Structural and non-structural repairs
- Finishing and decorative works
2.2 All work will be carried out in accordance with the agreed quotation, specification, and standard UK building practices.
2.3 Any work not included in the quotation is outside the agreed scope and will be treated as additional work.
3. QUOTATIONS AND PRICING
3.1 Quotations are provided based on site inspection, drawings, or information supplied by the customer.
3.2 Quotations remain valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
3.3 Prices may change if:
- Customer requests changes or upgrades
- Unexpected hidden defects are discovered
- Additional labour or materials become necessary
3.4 All variations must be agreed in writing before work continues.
4. BOOKINGS AND DEPOSITS
4.1 A booking is confirmed once the customer accepts the quotation in writing (email, message, or signed agreement).
4.2 We may request a deposit to secure a start date, cover planning, or purchase materials.
4.3 Deposits are normally non-refundable once materials have been ordered or dates reserved.
4.4 The deposit amount and payment schedule will be confirmed prior to commencing work.
5. PAYMENT TERMS
5.1 Payment terms will be agreed before the start of the project.
5.2 For larger projects, staged payments may apply.
5.3 Final payment is due immediately upon completion of the agreed works.
5.4 Late payments may result in:
- Suspension of works
- Delays to project completion
- Additional recovery costs
5.5 Ownership of supplied materials remains with PL BUILDERS LTD until full payment is received.
6. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
The customer must:
- Provide safe and unrestricted access to the property
- Ensure utilities (water, electricity) are available
- Remove or protect valuables and personal belongings
- Inform us of any building restrictions, permits, or lease conditions
- Approve all design/material selections before installation
7. MATERIALS AND SUPPLY
7.1 Materials may be supplied by:
- The customer, or
- PL BUILDERS LTD (as stated in the quotation)
7.2 We are not responsible for delays or defects caused by customer-supplied materials.
7.3 Additional charges may apply if customer instructions change after materials have been purchased.
8. WORKING HOURS
8.1 Standard working hours are typically:
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday: by arrangement
Sunday: not normally worked
8.2 Any out-of-hours work must be agreed separately.
9. PROJECT TIMESCALES AND DELAYS
9.1 Timeframes provided are estimates only.
9.2 Delays may occur due to:
- Weather conditions
- Supplier delays
- Structural surprises or hidden defects
- Changes requested by the customer
- Access restrictions
9.3 We are not liable for delays outside of our reasonable control.
10. CHANGES AND ADDITIONAL WORK
10.1 Any changes requested by the customer must be confirmed in writing.
10.2 Additional work may result in additional cost and extended timeframes.
10.3 We are not obligated to perform extra works without agreement.
11. QUALITY, SNAGGING, AND COMPLETION
11.1 Upon completion, the customer is encouraged to inspect the work.
11.2 Minor snagging issues must be reported within 7 days.
11.3 We will rectify agreed workmanship issues within a reasonable time.
11.4 This does not cover damage caused by third parties or misuse.
12. WARRANTY
12.1 We provide a workmanship guarantee where applicable.
12.2 Warranty does not apply to:
- Normal wear and tear
- Manufacturer defects in supplied products
- Customer-supplied materials
- Work altered by other contractors
13. HEALTH AND SAFETY
13.1 We comply with relevant UK health and safety standards.
13.2 The customer must ensure children and pets are kept away from active work areas.
13.3 We reserve the right to stop work if unsafe conditions exist.
14. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
14.1 We are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing defects
- Hidden structural issues
- Indirect or consequential losses
14.2 Our liability is limited to the contract value of the works completed, except where prohibited by law.
14.3 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
15. FORCE MAJEURE
We are not liable for delays, cancellations, or inability to complete works caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, illness, supplier disruption, or other unforeseen circumstances.
16. CANCELLATIONS
16.1 Customers must provide reasonable written notice for cancellations.
16.2 Deposits may be retained if:
- Materials have been ordered
- Start dates have been reserved
- Losses have been incurred
16.3 If we cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, any unused deposit will be refunded.
17. PHOTOGRAPHS AND MARKETING
With customer consent, we may photograph completed projects for portfolio or marketing purposes.
No identifying personal information will be published.
18. DISPUTES AND COMPLAINTS
We aim to resolve disputes amicably and professionally.
Customers should contact us in writing first to allow an opportunity to address concerns before any formal action is taken.
19. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
